Quality Marking Paint is Essential to Spring Road Repair

April 13, 2015

Road and ground markings relay crucial information to drivers, pedestrians, road repair workers and others who utilize outdoor spaces. Especially now during pothole repair season, ground markings alert crews to the areas in most need of repair. Additionally, elements such as sun, rain, wind, and in particular brine and salt applications during the winter can cause wear & fading of already existing surface markings. For optimum safety and usage, these markings should be reapplied on a regular basis to retain their visibility.

For traffic striping paint, it's best to use a quality formula with high pigment that is not affected by water. The most prevalent marking colors are yellow and white are used to designate traffic lanes on roads and delineate spaces in a parking lot. Blue paint designates handicapped spaces and red indicates fire lanes. A variety of other colors can be used for a wide array of marking purposes on playing fields and other outdoor areas.

For paint application, hand held applicator wands are great for small jobs, making application clean an easy. For larger jobs, a Komelon measure wheel and paint marking combo serves a dual purpose in paint marking as well as measuring. The wheels are user-friendly, durable and can greatly enhance the speed of any paint marking job.
