Avoiding the Hazards of Winter Road Work

December 17, 2012

More than 40,000 people are injured each year as a result of motor vehicle crashes in work zones.  Roadway work can be particularly hazardous during the winter months because of cold and/or icy conditions.  Using adequate traffic controls can help reduce or eliminate these incidents.

Traffic cones are the simplest, yet most crucial part of a road worker's safety. The bright, high-visibility colors of the cones make them noticeable from a long distance, enabling drivers to slow down before they reach an area that may be dangerous to either the driver or a road worker.

Made of PVC plastic, the cones keep their shape and color for years, even in extreme heat, cold, sun, and rain.  The cones are 100% stackable and lightweight for easy transport, storage, and set up.  And while the bright florescent orange and green colors keep motor vehicle hazards at bay, they will not cause damage to a vehicle itself should the cone and vehicle come in contact.
